STS Knife Store

We, at Simply Tool Steel, are pleased to offer these premier tool steel and stainless steel knives to you. We have made shopping simple, by categorizing the knives and tools based on the grade of blade steel used. We have chosen to offer to you only the highest quality knives and tools to ensure that these products will provide you with many years of durable dependable service.

The blade steel is chosen to provide the best service based on its intended use and to provide great value. Each grade is chosen based on its edge retention, toughness, wear resistance and corrosion resistance properties. Because each knife has an intended use, the selection of the correct tool steel grade is very important.

The handle materials are chosen for their durability, stability and attractive finish. The handle is the connection between you and the tool, and it must fit comfortably and provide good grip. These knives provide that important bond.

Each steel grade category listed below contains many models of available knives and tools. To begin shopping, select your desired grade of tool steel from the right-hand column and be assured that you are offered the best products available.

Introducing the New Sawtooth Pattern Handle ESEE-3. The Sawtooth G10 handle has an intimating look much like the shark it’s named after. More than just a mean look, the sawtooth pattern actually provides a comfortable, finger groove fit. This breaks the mode of the conservative ESEE handles of previous models. The Sawtooth Model 3 is available with a Black, Plain Edge Blade with three sheath color options to match your gear.

Jeff Randall and Mike Perrin of ESEE Knives designed the Model 3 based on the input from soldiers and law enforcement in the field. After a few tweaks to the original concept, it didn’t take long for the ESEE-3 to become the tactical fixed blade by which all others are judged. With its compact design and 1/8” thick blade, it’s truly a slicing and cutting machine. Whether it’s clipped inside your waistband or carried on your MOLLE gear, the molded sheathing and optional Cordura Backing hold the knife securely and safely, ready to deploy at a moment’s notice. While it’s carried by Special Forces all over the world, The ESEE-3 also works well as a true utility knife for adventurers, hikers, backpackers or just working around the farm.

CRKT Provoke

The bold Provoke Earth morphing karambit knife is a new iteration of an instant classic. Built with the Kinematic innovation, it transports covertly and comes to life when called in for duty. Crafted with high-end steel and finished with an intriguing and unique Cerakote color treatment, it’s poised to become a staple of standard issue.

Around here, we think of Designer Joe Caswell as somewhat of a mad scientist. When we got an eyeful of the sketches that were to become the Provoke—designed in Newbury Park, California—we knew he was destined to become one of the most innovative designers the knife world has ever seen. Modeled after a traditional karambit, the hawkbill-style blade is forged of a premium D2 steel for high durability and excellent edge retention. It’s finished with a unique Cerakote Earth-colored coating that’s at home on the block, in the jungle, or the high desert.

The opening mechanism is pulling the folder into the future whether it’s ready or not. Thumb pressure on the upper crossbar sets the chain reaction in motion, causing the blade to lunge to action while you’ve got a firm grasp on the handle. It’s crafted of aircraft-grade 6061 aluminum for supreme toughness and finished with a matching Cerakote coating. In true Joe fashion, the pocket clip is also a world’s first—sitting almost completely flush with the handle and likewise activated with light thumb pressure.

The Provoke Earth comes up strong when it’s called in for duty.

How Kinematic Works:

Nudge the upper crossbar with your thumb—while the rest of your fingers firmly grasp the handle—and the blade lunges to life and locks into place. Shift the discrete lever at the base of the finger loop and the blade retreats into its closed position.
