Zero Tolerance 0300 made with CPM S30V stainless steel
I just received a Zero Tolerance 0300 knife for Christmas. Thanks to my wife.
This knife is pretty awesome. The blade is made from CPM S30V stainless steel with a DLC coating. The handle frame is made from titanium with G-10 grips. The blade length is 3 3/4" and the oal is about 8". The knife feels light at only 8 oz.
I spent most of yesterday using the knife. I cut up a bunch of paper and the usual cardboard Christmas packaging. I just couldn't resist. I just had to chop on a 2x4. It chopped rather well, considering the length of the blade being a little short for chopping.
The blade held up rather well with no signs of wear on the edge. Im not sure exactly what the purpose of the DLC coating is tho. It seems that it is to provide wear resistance, but the wear would occur on the edge of the blade, not the sides. The is no DLC coating on the cutting edge. The S30V seems to be a very tough material. Well suited for a combat, tactical or utility type blade.
Overall, I really like the knife. It is comfortable and cut well. Im sure that it will be with me quite a long time.
